Heritage enthusiasts must set out an excursion to Yadagirigutta Temple located at a distance of 69 kilometers from Hyderabad at Warangal. One can reach this temple traveling in local transport from Hyderabad and Secunderabad. The temple is located at a height of 300 on a hillock in Nalgonda district of Andhra Pradesh.

There is a story behind the naming of the place. Yadavarishi, a hermit was used to meditate here and he was blessed by Lord Narasimha, who is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. It is said that Lord Narasimha materialized into five different forms such as Jwala, Yogananda, Lakshminarasimha, Gandabherunda and Ugra after seeing the hermit’s devotion. The first form was so fiery in appearance that the yogi wanted to see him in a peaceful form. At the request of yogi again he appeared with Goddess Lakshmi on his lap. The first three fiery forms are now worshipped inside the cave. The five idols of Narasimha worshipped in a place within the temple known as Panchanarasimha Kshetram.
The principle shrine of the temple is Lakshminarasimha idol which is believed to have healing power of incurable diseases, witchcraft, black magic and the harmful influence of planets. Devotees come here to worship the shrine. Local has a belief that if one prays for 40 days he will be relieved of incurable disease.
