Gandipet Lake Hyderabad

One of the favorite haunts in Hyderabad city, Gandipet Lake is located at a distance of 20 kilometers from the city in the western direction.  It is also known as Osman Sagar Lake as Mir Osman Ali Khan, the VIIth Nizam of Hyderabad city constructed this dam across river Musi after the destruction of the city by floods in 1908. Covering an area of 6 sq kilometers this lake is visited for its lush surroundings and tranquil environment. The best time to visit this lake is from October to March.
