Perched on the hill top of Kala Pahad, Birla Mandir stands majestically with its stunning architecture. This temple is dedicated to Lord Venkateswara who is also known as Balaji. Made of white marble from Indian state Rajasthan Birla Mandir is located with its adjacent greenery of the Hussain Sagar Lake. Birla temple of Hyderabad is one of the temples of Birla temples of India built by the renowned industrialist Birla group. It took almost ten years to complete the construction of Hyderabad Birla temple. Standing at this temple one can have the best view of the twin cities-Hyderabad and Secunderabad.

While visiting this temple one must explore its intricate carvings, the ceiling and the mythological figures display the best art of local craftsman. The motifs of the epics Ramayana and Mahabharata are carved into the marble wall. The architecture is a fusion of the northern and southern temples of India.
The 'Gopuram' or the pyramid shaped temple top is a feature of South Indian temples. The tower, Jagadananda vimanam is a sign of Orissan style. Lord Venkateswara stone carved idol is towering 11 feet. A lotus shaped canopy is seen on the top of the idol. Here are many marble Hindu Gods and Goddesses inside the temple complex. In evening Birla temple wears a magical look with the lightening.

The Temple is located conveniently to the city centre. It is just 1 Km from Hyderabad railway station, 6 Km from Hyderabad Bus Terminal and 7 Km from Hyderabad Airport. One can reach this temple by means of public transport.
