The Chote Hazrat ki Dargah is an important Muslim religious place located at Devan Devadi, in Hyderabad. Dating back to the time of Asif Jahis, this dargah is a legacy of the Muslim community. One has to climb 400 stairs to reach this dargah built in memory of Hazrat Ali.
Muslim considers this dargah as a holy place to worship. It attracts Muslim pilgrimage during the 8th and 10th day of Muharram, as Muslims from all over the country come to offer prayer to the prophet.
Legend says, Yakoob, a eunuch in the court of Ibrahim dreamt in his dream, Hazrat Ali is seating on the top of hill. After his dream he went to the hill and saw the palm of Hazrat Ali on a stone similar to his dream. He took the carved impression and installed in a shrine. An arch was built on that spot of the hill. Later a mosque was built by Ibrahim Shah adjacent to the dargah. During the Qutub shah period it was renovated and new places were added.
Moharrum festival is celebrated at this dargah which attracts a large number of Muslim tourists. Muslim pilgrimage visits this shrine as a holy place of worship.
