Located in the heart of the Hyderabad city Qutub Shahi Tombs are not to be missed tourists attractions in Hyderabad. The tombs display the fusion of Indian and Persian architectural forms and located in vicinity of Golconda Fort. Constructed with gray granite the tombs are decked with exquisite ornamentation.

Each tomb of Qutub Shahi is quadrangular and towers to a height of 9 - 15 meters above the terrace. The larger tombs are single storied while the smaller ones are double storied. The domes had been covered with blue and green tiles; one will see here few pieces only now.
Once furnished with carpets, chandeliers and velvet canopies on silver poles, Qutub Shahi Tombs display a spectacular sight. One can easily identify the tombs of the sultans from the nobles as the golden spires were placed over the tombs of the sultans to differentiate them from the nobles.
Qutub Shahi tombs are works of great beauty. The Deccan festival conducted by the State Government of Andhra Pradesh is a great extravaganza in the city where artists showcase their talents-music, dance, theater, etc.
